Photographer's Note
In the main train station, Grand Central Terminal, most of the light is natural sunlight that streams through giant, arched windows. At different times of the day there are different patterns of light, and there are endless possibilities for photos.
On this day, I saw the sunlight illuminating two people next to one of the staircases. The young woman was checking her phone. Perhaps the man behind her was doing the same thing as well, but I don't really know. I simply liked the moment, and the play of light and shadows. :-)

Interesting scene of daily life, with great composition, the woman well placed forming a great shape with the stairs and being in great shape herself, if you forgive my pun. Very good and creative work, congratulations!

The light here is just fabulous, I really like the pool of light around her shadow and the way her face is underlit from the bounceback from the stone floor. The glow of the main area of marble is ofset with the bright brass rail, makes you immediately realise why this kind of furniture is always used on marble, and then the light on the other person, and the golden glow of the annoncement board, the whole thing just oozes quality. well seen indeed.

Hello Brenda,
Unbelievable. This just shows how art can be created where others will just walk by without seeing anything. Wonderfully creative. Well done. Have a peaceful and blessed Easter.

Bonjour Brenda,
Adriano

Hello Brenda,
I like this "slice of life" shot from New York, a scene so familiar in modern day life. We should start a group theme of people on cellphones. Here are a pair for you to ponder: a photo by Dariusz Wojcieszek, Black Tradition and one that I took, "Pronto!"
Warm regards, and have a good weekend,

Hello Brenda,
You catch well spectacle in premises of train station in daily life, so the woman who is checking the cellular phone and a turn one's back to man are caught by the sense of distance that may place the stairs. It's good at the arrangement and composition of floor, stairs, people and board in entire image. And, the shadow projected to floor and separate board of stairs draw out a good effect for the whole as well as departure signal board of train. It's assembled as a story in difficult situation, I think.

Hello Brenda, I like the well controlled soft sunlight filtering through in this scene & the graphic effect of the stairs, the young lady texing adds interest & makes this a daily life scene. It seem that we now could not live without those blasted things, mobile phones I mean ;-) Well seen & realised.
Take care

Hi Brenda. A very successful composition with wonderful light which helped in creating interesting reflections of the steps on the marble wall facing us.I also like the role of the strong light as it accentuates hair, hands chin... The brass handrail points directly at the young woman, so do the ascending and descending steps.Cleverly done. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Hello Brenda,
Thank you for the very kind review.
You have here a very nice image of Daily Life in New york city. It is a very nice composition. She with her telephone is standing or leaning against the stair and behind her there is yet another person facing back towards us. The lighting in the hall is very beautiful. Reminds me of the time when I was living in the city. I passed many times Grand central Terminal, but had never taken any photo. Now that I think of it, I should have. As your note says, the lighting in the hall is quite exceptional. New York is a fascinating town. I spent most of my free time visiting museums. Thank you Brenda for this image, your photo contains a fragment of my life in the city, and I remember it well.
Very best regards,
Nobu.

Nice assemblage of lines and people, the stairs drive the eye on the two guys in a random moment of meeting, each one with its interests , together and separate.

Hi Brenda,
I like how you have caught this girl handling her mobile phone, it gives a great spontaneity and freshness to the scene.
But the most attractive thing in your composition is the fantastic game of light and of shades on to the marble of this stairs and of the soil of the Grand Central, very well combined with the letters of the panels of information that we see in background.
It is a very powerful and vital photo. A great work.
Un abrazo,
Josep
