Photographer's Note

A photo from my future home in Vermont. I hiked up into our backyard and took a shot through the trees, now that was no easy feat with out showshoes ( a nessasity for next year!) While walking up there I fell through the snow frequently up to my knees and occassionally to my hip, oh yeah we get snow in Vermont!

As you can see the house sits on the side of a mountain the chain of mountains in Vermont is the Apalachians a chain of mountains that goes from as far North as Maine and as far south as Georgia! There is a trail in the mountains that is 2,167-miles (3,488 kms) long along the ridge, The trail traverses Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia. The Appalachian Trail is used by day, weekend and other short-term hikers, section hikers and thru-hikers. Thru-hikers hike the entire length of the Trail in one season. The views are amazing!

When the snow is at its maximum is there any house left unburied?!!! Anyway it looks fantastic. It is a nice picture and i hope you will enjoy living there.

It's a beautiful shot of a very beautiful place. You're lucky to have your future house located in such area. Though I would hate the cold, I would love to spend some times there, especially within your seemingly warm house.
You managed to capture a beautiful light in a time of the year which doesn't offer such opportunity quite often. The leaves of the trees, with the light, create a warm atmosphere to an otherwise cold and dead view.

Ahhh, this is intetresting to see!
Quite different from where you live now, and the surroundings are no doubt rural...
I like the location in the forest, otherwise the view is of a most familiar kind!

Hi Donna,

The trees are a natural frame around the house. The point of view leads our eyes towards the mountains. The reflection of the light on the snow brings out the colors. Have a nice day.

Still looks like home to me:) just not that wast around my parents house. How far is it to you neighbour? It seemed a bit lonely:) Lovely picture but take a closer one as well with the view from your house. from here it seems that it's amazing:)
