Hotel Shadow, a photo from Florida, South

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken one evening while in Miami Beach for Photoshop World. Whenever I tell people this they assume that I did something to enhance the photo but I did nothing to it. The colors are all natural.

I had to wait a painful amount of time for the hotel shadow to move to just the right spot and for people to be clear of the shot (except the man at the lifeguard post).

Yes, I agree with Elena - the softness of the colours make this shot. Good composition and a really wonderful sky. Well done. We'll be in Miami Beach visiting relatives this time next year so hope I'll take some shots like this!

very unusual pebbled cloud formation, I like how the lighting gives depth to all the colours and shadows to the objects especially the little "dunelets" on the sand.

The depth and the wonderful soft colors give it a warm and serene feeling. I like how the pink lifeguard house stands out. Unusual cloud formations. Wonderful picture.

This is a very dramatic photo, with crisp images and gorgeous colors. The shadow creates an unreal quality to the image that adds to the drama. I sense the shadow was central to the composition, but the cabanas along the beach offer a lovely counterpoint to the grand sky with its delightful clouds. Thank you for the wonderful image!

Great shot. The shadow of the hotel is definitevely a great addition. It really enhance the deepness of the scene. Beautiful sky.
