A dog looking out of the window during a streetcar ride in downtown New Orleans. This particular picture was shot on the old Saint Charles Line. The dog was hanging out a streetcar window, and so was I.

Bonjour Benny,

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. C'est assez rare de voir un chien dans un train. C'est normalement d'une voiture qu'ils sortent le museau. Profondeur de champs parfaite.

Hello Benny,
It's a very nice photo where the shallow dof works very well. I remember a big dog always looking out the window of the family's mini bus in the village where I grew up. A pity I was too small to take photos. The spots of colours are not very important, but they do make the photo a bit brighter, so I prefer this to the one in b&w.

Great observation and timely shooting! I'm reminded of a shot I uploaded of a man staring out of a train carriage window - which you were kind enough to comment on some while back. I like street photography and love dogs, so this does it for me!

Prachtig portret en profile van deze hond en de scherpte en vooral de wazige voor- en achtergrond zijn heel sterk. Heel goed fotowerk met mooie kleuren en licht bovendien.

Hallo Benny,
Ik heb de kleurenversie en de zwart-wit versie eens goed vergeleken. Zwart-wit is natuurlijk hier een uitstekend alternatief, maar hier wint voor mij toch de prachtige verstrooide kleuren aan de rechterkant van de hond.
Gelukkig hebben de moderatoren de hond niet ontmaskerd als huisdier, anders…….

I'm not sure if the WS is 'better', its just a matter of personal choice i think. Sometimes its clear and easy to say one shot is better than the other, not this time. I prefer the color version, but its all so subjective. In this version, I enjoy the red lights above the dog's head, they add something a little special. in the WS, the city view reminds me so much of San Francisco. fun shots, creative results. cheers

Ik ben een echte honden liefhebber.
Maar na de dood van onze laatste, wil ik er geen meer ik ben te oud, kan in priciepe de hond niet meer overleven.
Die honed snoet doet mij gewoon ankeren
