Photographer's Note
.
Arriving to Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge (between Winnie and High Island), I was struck by the lone flower that I previously saw only in my native country Vietnam.
In popular term, we called it LỤC BÌNH in southern part's Mekong Delta. Where this flower is, there is Rice also. I am not aware of any relationship between lục bình and lúa (rice) but while trying to track down the Rice Fields on local map (not wheat), I found it.
Posting here, I am asking for indication of potential relationship between this type of flower and rice, if any. Also, if you have seen it any other places that close to rice paddies, please let me know.
Temporarily, I am just "mention" it as Cultural Flower since it has deep root in my memory of my tropical country.
Thank You.

Hi Ngoc-Son:
The picture is not much in term of photography, but the concern you’ve raised here about its relationship to rice (again, rice, — not wheat — deserves a respect toward “TE’s learning through photography”.
I hope some experts would share their experience here, soon or later.
Please keep up your meaningful work. (I have been through your gallery and was glad to enjoy a lot of promising pictures and informative notes as well.)
Thanks.
Christine

Christine already picked the words out of my mouth.
I don't want to repeat just the same, but to tell you that I am proud of your being struck by an image that absorbed your psychological memory, even though you said you left VN as a little kid.
Keep shoting, posting, and... thinking! Best wishes!
