Photographer's Note
One Cold Thanksgiving day in Lubbock I decided to get out and drive around. I headed out to Texas Tech University and this is what I came across. A rack of cold and lonely bikes just waiting for some student to come out of there WARM dorm room and take them for a spin. Needless to say it didnt happen.

Mind blowing shot... just perfect... the photo itself has a tough of loneliness. The colours are just perfect. And another thing … though the shy has been blown out… but in this frame it seems appropriate…
Thanks for sharing,

I got to say this Pam, excellent image using the simpliest scene to make this marvellous one. A very dramatic photo. You know what, people say, there is nothing more complicated than simplicity. The wet on the ground makes it romantic combined with the street lamps. This is not long ago. At that time (Nov-22), I was working on my other exam which also took the whole week like this.
Well seen and presented of TTU

Hey Sunshine,
You already know that I like this photo since I asked if you would make me a print of it! I love the shine on the bricks as it seems to intensify the cold. The only thing I wish would be different is that the bricks were either straight across the photo or that it intersected at more of an angle. This was it just seems to be crooked and my eye keeps going to that. Although, since you were drinking apricot brandy at the time, I forgive you.
Keep it real,
Mel
p.s. you did well in your tennis lesson today. Keep that follow-through up high!

Hi,
Interesting shot you got here. I like the colors and the atmosphere. I feel the patch of grey sidewalk at the bottom kinda get in the way though. I would have tried to give the bikes more importance in the foreground to give a focal point and get rid of this sidewalk. Just an idea ...Well done anyway.
Regards.

Hi Pam,
It's an excellent picture Pam. It's kind of depressive with the lonely bikes, lonely sidewalks, lonely yards, cold colors, the white sky and the snow...Depressive in a good way, of course since we're talking photo.
I think you easily could have cropped that bottom part with the concrete sidewalk. It would have gotten us nearer from the bikes and it would have "cleaned" that foreground.
Am I getting it right from Mel's critique that you were drinking at that moment :oD
Have a nice day,
Marc
