Photographer's Note
The first in my Lost Maples series, this was taken at Lost Maples State Natural Area (a state park) near Vanderpool, TX. Although the place has a reputation for colorful fall foliage, I found myself disappointed. Yes, there are pretty spots, but they are far and few between. A word of warning for any who visit: If you take the East trail, turn back at the outhouse!
This picture was taken in the parking lot. There were lots of people wandering around, and I thought the trees looked nice, so I shot over their heads. Not much PP. A tiny amount of straightening (about .2 degrees), a touch up with the levels, some refocus (think unsharp mask).
