Photographer's Note

Another photo of Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, AK. To give some size comparison... that "small" waterfall is about 20-30 ft. tall! The sheer size of the glacier cannot fully be represented in photos... it is awe-inspiring when you're standing there in real life. I loved how the glacier "glowed" that brilliant blue from within. The Park ranger said that the glacier had just calved that morning which is why the ice at the very front is so vividly blue. The waterfall is created by the enormous amount of run-off from within the glacier.
