Photographer's Note

The West Fork (of Oak Creek) Trail is a very popular out-and-back hiking trail in Oak Creek Canyon not far outside Sedona. About 3 miles from the trailhead, the trail itself ends at a pool of water that bends out of sight as the canyon curves. For those intrepid (or crazy) enough to brave the cool to freezing water, the loss of feeling in your feet is well worth the effort.

It is possible to turn this into a one way, 14-mile, hike, but you're forging your own route up the canyon and will do a lot of wading and even some swimming to reach the other trailhead. Bear in mind, there is no shuttle service between the two trailheads.
