John Ford Point is spectacular offer an unforgettable view of Monument Valley, Navajo Tribal Park. I can understand why John Ford wanted to film his movies here after he was persuated to come visit the area. We were fortunate to be there after it had rained a bit. The vegetation adds green color to the surrounding red sandstone.

The cowboy is a middle aged Navajo man with glasses. He would jump on his horse and ride out to the point whenever a tour bus stops by and drop off the tourists. The tourists would tip him $1 to take his picture.

Wonderful shot, these warm colors the light and shades and that lone rider [is he part of the park.... ;) ], PERFECT!

very clasic shot. the rider adds so much to the depth and perspective of this image. wonder if a little dodging in the rocks would bring out more detail there. the dark shadows in the lower right take away slightly from the impact of the black horse. a slightly blue hue to the image and maybe a color correction or a skylight filter may have helped that. otherwise this is very well composed and exceptional scenery.

Spectacular shot, must be the most photographed monuments in the USA. You did capture well are these stunning colors. I presume that the cowboy and horse are a statue since I have seen the same but from a little different angle at this address:
