Photographer's Note
Death Valley, California. Most northern part, north of Ubehebe crater, there where seldom tourist protrude. Too rough road, no tourist attractions, no Sprite and Coca-Cola. But there is light, there is space, there is unspoiled Desert - landscape of all prophets, fools, and coyotes. I feel like Moses in front of these glaring bushes. Late February afternoon, the magic time of this part of the world. It will be a long night in my small tent.
Nearly nothing was done digitally on this picture. Slight curves; masking off the sky (Magic Wand mask, feathering 2 pix, Mask shape, expand 15 pix; resampled to 800 pix width; unsharp mask 55%, radius 2pix.

I would love to have more detail in one of the nearest bushes to 'draw me in' to this shot. I'm also guessing that you used a grey ND grad, but in this case do you think that it was really needed? The foreground is catching enough light as it is, and the balance is presumably there naturally.
I was actually quite surprised that you used a 35-105 because there seems to be a fair amount of barrel distortion (highlighted by the fact that the horizon before the mountains is curved). I would have guessed you used a 18mm. A bit of rotation to the right (which would level out the nearest bushes) would make this easier for my brain to judge.
Once again, we have a difference of 'vision' when it comes to depth of field, as I notice that you have again blurred out the sky slightly. I feel that you then need to make your subject (the vegetation) more vivid - so the realignment and sharpening might help.
Keep up the good work, you'll always attract thoughtful comment from me.

Again, very good perspective, very effective low taken photo. Superb deep field. Ceautiful colors, intersting lateral light, beautiful shadows and eath pattern.

Very nice shot I like the contrast between the illuminated bushes and darker clouds on the right. You can feel the majesty of this beautiful desert on this picture.Actually this is in my opinion one of the most beautiful places on Earth, I just arrived from DeVa couple of weeks ago and it was really impressive. The shadows are perfect of course as well...
