Photographer's Note
Laguna Beach - California
I have a whole series of this sunset from last spring that I keep for days like today ...
all the leaves are brown
and the sky is grey
I've been for a walk
on a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
if I was in L.A
California Dreamin'
on such a winter's day

Hello John,
I can’t remember a sun in sunset photo like this small. Its size and spectrum are really great with dark water. Silhouettes are splendid. Congratulations. I wish you a very good week end.
Friendly Regards,

Wow John, amazing sunset! You know how I love sunsets and this one is truly beautiful. The colors are magnificent. No planes and ships needed here :-)
You know there is a province here in the philippines named Laguna... and it's where my father was born and raised.
Cheers!

Hallo John!
This one is great! There are thousands of sunrises and -sets on TE but this one for me is something special. The mood, the light, the colours - all is great. I like very much this headland with the trees silhouetting in front of this gorgeous sky - and your note...
Greetings from dull, rainy, stormy and cooool Germany!

Simple, but highly effective. The sea is a beautiful metallic blue and the image is very well exposed so as to retain details in the sea. I like the way you have avoided the central composition of the sun. Nice work.
Best wishes

Hi John,
Beautiful lights and colours. It's incredible the sun, very well captured and the halo colored around it, in a wonderful gradiant. The wave line is too very useful for the perspective. It's a moment really impressive, nostalgic and plenty of hope for tomorrow. Thanks. Best wishes,
Angel.

Hello John, how are you doing?
This is a very attractive view, the coloursa re just so catchy that you simply can't take you eyes away from it.
I got some similar colours here if you haven't already seen it.
Compositions works great, and being an amateur photo instructor at work this is really a great example of how to make a good photo that breaks with "the rule of thirds".
The colour is very deep and the way it seems to fade off into the sky is great.
A good addition of action to this photo is the wave that seems to be a bout to break.
Thnak you for sharing.

A long way from your usual mountain haunts but just as beautiful (and easier on the legs too). You caught this well, just as the sun is about to disappear below the horizon leading to that wonderful seamless gradation of colour.

Good evening John, you have indeed caught a Laguna Sunset. It's beautiful. Nice and sharp, with Catalina to the left. I like this alternative view. The foreground wave is a very nice addition. For me this is a little slice of home (and heaven). Thank you.

Hi John,
Great peaceful mood created by these fantastic complimentary golds and blues. The tiny solar globe and the gently crashing waves are tow other great elements to this fine composition.
Regards, Tom
