Photographer's Note
"Sauntering up the Yosemite Valley, through meadow and grove, in the company of these majestic rocks, which seem to follow us as we advance, gazing, admiring, looking for new wonders ahead where all about us is so wonderful, the thunder of the Yosemite Fall is heard, and we arrive in front of the Sentinel Rock it is revealed in all its glory from base to summit, half a mile in height, and seeming to spring out into the Valley sunshine direct from the sky. But even this fall, perhaps the most wonderful of its kind in the world, cannot at first hold our attention, for now the wide upper portion of the Valley is displayed to view, with the finely modelled North Dome, the Royal Arches and Washington Column on our left; Glacier Point, with its massive, magnificent sculpture on the right; in the middle, directly in front, looms Tissiack or Half Dome, the most beautiful and most sublime of all the wonderful Yosemite rocks, rising in serene majesty from flowery groves and meadows to a height of 4,750 feet."

Hi, Ray
I really like this combination. A gentle, good with detail, warm foreground, contrasts with the strong, powerful, cold in the reception of the background. This age-old dialogue and a statement of opposites. Super...

I have this gut feeling I'm not making it to Yosemite this year.......so sad, but at least I can visit through your photos.
About your last comment on my last post, not todays, I didn't add the flowers on the side of the steps because that had stopped blooming and looked horrible. I do have one posted from earlier that shows the spring flowers in full bloom, and it was awesome.
Anyway, love seeing photos from someone else’s Mind's Eye, and I find yours to be very pleasing, so down to earth and not flashy, just perfect for the man that's sadden from not being able to make it there this year.
Excellent POV and perfect colors and light, great job here Ray!!

Hi Ray,
nice photo. I like the trees and the waterfall in background. It is a HDR image?

Hi Ray,
Awe inspiring photo. The height of the waterfall is very apparent with how you have positioned the trees going off into the distance like that, and the shadow and light is really well done, it makes the trees almost pop out of the shot. Thanks for sharing!

taken a short stroll through your gallery, Ray, and must admit the Yosemite-park series is overwhelming.
Here managed shaded BG area in fine contrast to the green trees along the lake under bright daylight.
The waterfqll is outstanding high cascade, and probably its roar can be heared to greater distance.
Cheers for an intriguing sight.
Ike
