Photographer's Note
This is a really awesome train in Durango Colorado. They run year round. It is really nice because they have a shoot out for Phorotgraphers and they will drop you off in the snow and then do a run by so you can photograph. I have never actually got to do but it is always a sell out. This is going around the bend and I was hanging off of the back of the Train with one of the guides holding me off the side. Fun but scary.

Wow this is a very nice shot Pam. I love the yellow in the grey. That makes the traine stand out so well. Looks like from a movie scene. Beautiful shot. Sothy

I agree with Sothy this looks like a scene from a movie. Like Narnia or something. The bend is what makes the scene work for me. Very dramatic scene. Awesome shot yo!

Now... I'm the third one in a row to agree : it DOES look like a movie scene!
Wonderful angle and dramatic colors, they work perfectly well for me.
Great shot.

Hi Pam,
I like your picture, the almost square format, the color of the rain standing out, the frame echoing the color of the steam engine. Reminds me of a documentary about the building of the first train line through the rockies...well done!

Hello there,
I like how the yellow is so saturated and how the snow is overexposed. It makes the picture look old. I think that's what makes it look so much like a movie. That, and the fact that it is a pretty unusual scene for most people.
Excellent picture!

Hi Pam,
Excellent viewpoint showing the little train on the edge of the cliff. Yellow cars really stand out of less colourful background. Just great!

Pam,
This is a great shot, the color is really fine and the detail is great. The photo run sounds like a hoot, may have to try that one of these days.

Hi Pam
Nice scene with this old train and interesting contrast with the yellow wagons.
I don't know if it was possible to post a wider picture to include more wagons in the frame.
Cheers.

Hi Pam and be welcome here on TE as i just discover your gallery. I trully believe you that you take pictures for a long time cause what i see in your young TE gallery is already some gems, starting by this one !
Contrasts are huge and high as i like, just enough saturation and for sure a perfect compo.
A beautiful post

Colorado, one of my dreams...this is excellent Pam. And I agree with the above, truly a cinematographic one. Love the strong contrast and that orange. Very interesting note, and thanks for accepting the scariness to give us this image !:-)))
Keep them coming...!

Michèle
