Hmmmm.. I think he went that way. This is the southernmost viewpoint at the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. On a clear day, or a somewhat cloudy one, you can see for hundreds of miles from this plateau. The canyon below is just part of a much larger formation called Monument Basin. You can travel the road that runs in the foreground around the entire plateau (102mi) in a stock 4x4 with high clearance in a rushed single day, or take 2+ days camping along the way. I did increase the contrast a bit to try and compensate for the haziness in the upper right, if anyone has a solution for haze im all ears. I also considered cropping the rock in the foreground and the top part of the clouds but the shot didn't look as "deep" without these elements, opinions welcome. Thanks!
