Photographer's Note

If you haven't been to Bryce Canyon National Park before, here's a little peak at the visual eye candy that awaits you on the drive into the park.

Red Canyon is adjacent to Bryce and approaches to it via Highway 12 from the west will take you through it. It's very accessible and easy to get out of the car and wander around formations like those here. Stopping at Red Canyon sets the stage dramatically for the geologic wonders awaiting you at Bryce.

Although the sandstone fins shown here are very orange in the late afternoon sun, other closeby formations take on an intense deep shade of red that gives this area it's name. In fact the colors here can be so warm, you may need to desaturate them for fear of your photos looking too fake. I think even if Bryce weren't right around the corner photographers would go out of their way to drive through Red Canyon.

Hope you enoy!
