Photographer's Note

The Cascades is common name for very dramatic, tusk-like group of mountain ranges spanning both sides of Canada-U.S. boundary, 90% of them south of 49th parallel. Ross Lake and surrounding it Recreation Area belong to North Cascades National Park complex protecting large, pristine area of mountains, most beautiful glaciers and dense (mostly old growth), temperate rainforest.
Water is a continuing force that shapes and defines often stunning forms of countless valleys and gorges you can encounter on your journeys into the Cascades.

This unnamed waterfall at the mouth of Arctic Creek was a nice surprise, only five minutes paddling from Little Beaver campground (completely free but accessible only from water).
