actually the view out my bedroom window first thing in the morning when i lived in wyoming. larimie peak is just at the left edge of the frame. the early morning light was special that morning.

Jag trivs bäst i öppna landskap...That is a very popular swedish song lyric from the eighties, it translates roughly "I´m most at ease in open landscapes". Don´t know how I came to think about that:-)

This is a fantastic landscape, the colors and the snow gives texture, the rolling hills give depth and the heavy clouds adds the drama. Wow! Oops - out of smileys.

Looks fantastic with the snow patches everywhere. Incredible sharpnes and great light, very nice sense of depth too. I think the dark clouds in the sky together with the morning light shining under them, is what makes this picture so special.

The pic is beautiful Lyn. It's incredible how the country it's exposed to the sunlight, while the sky it's all covered with the dark clouds. The snow on the small hills are amazing, seems like the graphic raster.

Nice to see some early morning shots as these tend to create good shadows and good defined landscape lines, you have achived both here , love the moody sky , suggesting "unsure what the day will bring" , it could also be morning call on mars, wish we all had such a view thanks for posting

The texture of the sand is very well-captured and the deep formation of the clouds is a great contrast to the "lively colours" at the bottom. Amazing shot!

Excellent. The terrain textures are well presented. And the soft light casting dappled patterns on the ground accentuates the natural drama in your composition.

There are some lovely hues in this photo. The coarseness of the ground is really accentuated by the snow. It's amazing to see a fence in all that openness. You're right in that the early morning light was VERY special that morning. Beautiful!

Nice pic! The sky looks like something Peter Jackson would come up with. Very nice colors from the sunrise, the snow also adds. I like the sharpness and cripsness. It's a beautiful landscape.

This dark sky with that red ground seem very strange and your pic is very nice! This red groud seems to be lava of a volcano. Also congratulation for the quality of your pic!

It's amazing how someone's bedroom view can be someone's ultimate vacation spot. You are lucky to have such view, and you definitely know what to do with it when it comes to photography. I'd go for less sky and frame it just above the horizon. I still think it's beautiful

The light here is infusing what would otherwise be an unexciting vista with expectant warmth and interest and highlighting the contrast of the snowy surfaces. The calmness of the dawn is threatened by the storm looming from the pink bellied clouds. I can almost feel the silence.
You might like to think of adding to my new Theme - Dawn's early light
