Photographer's Note

Just imagine: You're swimming around, enjoying the morning with your friends and family, and then all of a sudden you become breakfast for a white heron! Such is life (and death for that matter) at J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island. This particular heron was really on a hot streak, catching and eating at least 3 fish within about 5 minutes and allowing me to get some real nice action shots.

I used a 1.4x converter with the 400mm f2.8 Canon lens.
