Photographer's Note
The last in James Fennimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tails was the novel "The Deerslayer" which was set on the shores of Glimmerglass Lake which in real life was Otsego Lake where Cooper's grand manor lay.
There is something about the light on this lake that brings out amazing reflections.
It was a warm spring day but there was a very thin layer of ice in the middle of the lake forcing me to turn back on my way to the "Singer Sewing Machine Castle."
Oh well I should be back in a couple of weeks to get that shot.

Hi Tom,
Cooper's Glimmerglass Lake is an apt title for your beautiful work. The detail of the bare trees in the reflection is just amazing. I love those little waves radiating out from the bow of your kayak and you're right, the light is special.

Hi Tom,
Very kind of you to invite us to this canoe trip! I can just feel the slow movements of the boat here, gliding to the shore. There is a very good holiday feeling in this quiet landscape. Wish I was there "in reality" as well!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hi Tom,
Wonderfull scene, very well captured. Nice bright colors and very good pov. Nice reflections.
Glimmerglass is a german word. Does it have any reason why a lake is been named with a german originated word.

Hi Tom,
Very nice addition to you kayak series. Yes it's those reflections that make this interesting. Red buildings add colour to view still waiting to turn greener.

Hi Tom,
You have showed this pov before and also here it works wonderful with the boat in front of you. The trees are still bold and waiting for some sunshine. The calm water gave you a nice reflection along the shoreline....a very nice build up composition.

Henk

Jolies couleurs, beaux bâtiments sur cette coline, beaux arbres et magnifiques reflets sur cette eau calme.

Hello Tom,
A fine view of American daily life at the lake - or should I say week-end life ? Fine reflections and the point of your boat brings the veiw to life.

Paul

Hello Tom! You always have these wonderful adventures and even if I still sit on my office chair for another hour or so, it is a pleasure to join you, feels like floating along. Ice on the lake, this seems like a long winter, very much like ours (but there is hope, I can see a clear blue sky outside). Such nice homes along the shoreline, they must have wonderful views, I am sure. Happy weekend, Barbara.

How it should be nice to paddle in this lake!
The calm water and its pictoresque reflections conveys a relaxed mood and attitude. The red houses fit perfectly in this environment and so does your kayak. I can almost hear the splash of the paddles. And you are right: the light is special here and you have produced a colourful and enjoyable composition. Spring is in the air...
Best regards,
Donato

Hello Tom,
A picture in your gallery is already a classic, the bow of your kayak in different places.
Perfect and beautiful reflections in the water and a wonderful light.
Good weekend.

Tom,
You have captured a great reflection here which gives the photo depth and balance. The inclusion of the front of your kayak helps give the shot a sense of depth and direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The angle created by the shoreline leads the eye through the shot nicely.

Asa
