Bridge 8 straddles the Erie Canal in Rexford in the U.S. state of New York.
Rexford is located just east of the City of Schenectady.
Bridge 8 - A highway bridge in Rexford, New York over the Erie Canal / Mohawk River. This view shows the west side of the bridge. Beyond the bridge is the historic remains of the 1842 Erie Canal Aqueduct. We can see the single arch that remains on the north side of the Mohawk River. The 1842 aqueduct replaced the original 1824 aqueduct at this site when the Erie Canal was enlarged during the years of 1835- 1862.

Hi Tom,
I like the oily water and the abstract reflections with that late light warming up the stonework.
Time hasn't been too kind to the bridgework, I think the word "ruins" in your title is very telling.
Your well trodden POV across the bows of the kayak make an interesting water level perspective.
Lovely colour tones, my wife likes them too.
Cheers
Pete

Hi Tom
de toute beauté ce cliché de l'arche de ce pont qui montre bien le beau décor que l'on trouve de l'autre côté avec la pointe de ton embarcation qui porte notre regard vers l'avant.
Amitiés

Hello Tom,
The old bridge makes a lovely frame for the colourful landscape beyond. I like, especially, the way the light plays across the golden stones of the bridge and over the water, truly wonderful. Excellent colours and sharpness. I like it very much.

Hi Tom
Another fine shot from the drivers seat. The kayak is pointed to the centre of the arch and the reflections are really nice with the smooth movement in the water.

Hi Tom, Excellent shot of this site. The earth tones are exceptional and the refelctions sparkle. Really good compostion. The angle of the shot gives great depth as one looks through the bridge arch. Regards, Roger

Hi Tom,
Magical light, perfectly captured, and a great POV make this a real winner; the water is like liquid gold, the arch makes a fine focal point. Looks like you were having a great paddle.

Tom,
This is a nicely composed shot using the tip of the kayak to direct the eye into the shot. The archway provides a nice portal through the scene. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has great sharpness. The reflection is great and adds depth and balance for the shot.

Hi Tom
Excellent the boat leads the viewer directly to the bridge, very clever framing indeed. At first I did not even see the boat because it almost looks like the water. There is also some sunshine at the left, which adds to warm color hues. Fine sharpness too. Well done
Best regards

This is a nice framing, Tom. I like how you placed the kayak straight to the arch. Water and the reflection is amazing and the diagonal lighting have excellent contrast. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Hi Tom!
I know by now that photos taken from your kayak, with the pointed end in the foreground, is a favourite of yours! I particularly like this one, because of the arched background opening out onto a nice scenery, the sunlit bridge in the middle ground, and the beautiful reflections in the water!
Thanhs for sharing, and best wishes for Christmas!
Marie Louise.

Bonjour Tom,
les lumières sont un peu justes, il faut les avouer, difficiles. Toujours cette bonne idée que de montrer le bout du canoé pour guider le regard.
J'aime les jeux de reflets.
Regards.
