Warm Reflection
Boulder Lake
North of Duluth, Minnesota
Gentle warmth of the afterglow of the sunrise at Boulder Lake. A few minutes drive north of my house is a world that is my own mental image of Northern Minnesota ... what I imagine it to be like when I close my eyes .. a world of thick woods, filled with wildlife, and dotted by thousands of lake ..
This particular place on the shoreline has become one of my favorites .. Unfortunately this spot on the shoreline is on a bend of a narrow back road .. someday I am going to get taken out by a joy riding teenager while shooting here.
Boulder Lake is a partially man made lake. In 1919 a dam on Otter Creek merged three existing smaller lakes into Boulder Lake. The lake contains 27 miles of shoreline 98% of which is undeveloped. The area is protected by the Boulder Land Management Area (BLMA) and contains a great variety of wildlife including moose, wolves, eagles, and osprey. The shoreline also hosts the Boulder Lake Environmental Learning Center which hosts a large number of programs throughout the year.

Hi John,
Nice, soft colors. A buccolic scenery. I prefer the large version of course, there is more detail.

John

Hi John,
A superb panoramic view. The golden tones are very beautiful. I also like the mirror effect on the surface of the water. Well done and thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi John,
peace is the first word that comes to my mind seeing this. Very moody photo, a great photography realization with few elements. Fantastic light too. Well done!

Carlos

Hello John,
This image captures serenity in its broadest sense. In panoramic format it is especially effective. I have wondered how the large version form of an image is posted?
Warm regards,
Bulent

Bonjour John.
La large version permet d'entrer dans ce paysage et d'en découvrir la beauté. C'est un paysage très paisible, on ne peut que rester là à le contempler.
Beau travail !
Amicalement
Jacques
