My first Trek Earth posting! This is Pemaquid Point, Bristol, Maine. The light house is also featured on the back of the Maine state quarter coin. Feedback is appreciated!

Hello Devin,

I think it's a good photo representative of coastal Maine. Well exposed and realistic colors. All that white foam suggest the strength of the waves breaking on the rock. Perhaps a slight tilt that would have been easy to correct (check the horizon).

Devin, welcome to TE. Nice shot, fine angle, good wave action and lighting, a bit short on contrast I think but overall very nice.

Welcome to TE! I like the way you composed this photo, with the waves splashing onto the rocks in the foreground. I like the texture of the water and sky, and the way the land is wedged between the two. It is a lovely scene.

Hi Devin,
Very dramatic sea seen pounding on these richly textured rocks.
The famous lighthouse is well placed and the rolling storm clouds add a bit of motion to this fine image.

PS After a good storm the pool left by the retreating waves catches a reflection of the lighthouse.

I have to tell you 2 things - 1st I'm not a photographer but your photo is fantastic and 2nd I just joined TrekEarth because of your photo!!
I can't speak to the technique because I don't have the knowledge and that really isn't why I like it! It evokes romantic poetry and such emotion!!! I also think that a lot of people who have never been to Maine (I'm fortunate to have spent some time there) will look at your photo and feel that it truly represents what they always imagined the coast of Maine to be like. Kudos to you for a beautiful shot. Just georgeous!!!!
