Minneopa July
Minneopa State Park
Mankato Minnesota
Minneopa is a Dakota word that roughly translates as "water falling twice"
I first found this place on a drive across Minnesota when I couldn't resist following a small sign that said "Falls" with an arrow along the roadside. I now try to stop here whenever I can for a picnic and short walk around this powerful fall. (it is on my route home to visit my parents in South Dakota).
These falls are in a small state park a short drive south of Minneapolis / St. Paul near the town of Mankato.
The area of the park around the falls is consists of mostly a ranger station and small picnic area ... apparently there is much more to the park just down the road (a project for a future visit).

Hello John,
A refreshing place in full estival period especially if the temperatures are high… A beautiful photograph on this powerful water fall, I imagine the deafening noise of its flow. Good management of the ambient light which illuminates water as much as the green vegetation. I understand your attraction for this beautiful area, thank you John.
With all my friendships and with soon,
Jean-Charles

Bonjour John,
Friendly regards.
Daniel.

Hi John,
Wow, it's like a sheet of curtain. Impressive power and enegy exuded from this image. I can almost here the roaring noise. The light is very strong for a long exposure shot, but the effect is quite impressive even though it is a little over exposed but the rest are in good details. Must be a very refreshing place for a summer get away. Simply a wonderful nature shot.
Thanks.
Way

Hi John,
You caught the dynamics of the falling water pretty well once again! Much better than freezing it.
The greenish colour of fall is also very pleasing.
Thanks for sharing,
Frans
