Photographer's Note
Superior on a Still February Morning
Northeast of Two Harbors Minnesota
Highway 61 is the scenic route up the North Shore of Lake Superior. It is a beautiful drive ... filled with wonderful scenery of the lake and forests ... with a great deal of wildlife.
If you would rather walk than drive ...
The Superior Hiking Trail stretches from the town of Two Harbors more than 200 miles to Canadian Border
http://www.shta.org/
The main destination points along the North shore are the 8 fantastic state parks that hug the shore protecting the most beautiful sections of coast, waterfalls, and forests .. Here is a wonderful "map portal" to the park system:

Hello John
a beautiful landscape and excellent POV. Reflexes are superb and the light on the horizon creates a very nice and especially effect where water joins the heaven. Perfect sharpness.

Bonjor John,
belle photo tranquille où la neige et la glace rejoignent l'eau, j'aime beaucoup les endroits tranquilles et mon pays en manque cruellement. Lumières parfaites et jeux de reflets exquis.
Regards from Belgium.

Good Morning John,
Your low pov, to include the snow-covered, context-setting stones, gives early impact and produces a great sense of depth. Though the light is restricted, the reflections are still strong in this very well composed shot.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi John
The symmetry is extraordinary here. Beautiful glassy reflections and how you composed the snow in the foreground. What an idyllic scene. Congratulations and I wish you a lovely weekend.

Hi John,
A really beautiful scene. I am a bit surprised though that the lake is not frozen since it is obviously winter and quite a lot of snow. The composition is excellent with the snow-covered stones in the foreground that adds depth. The horizon line is perfectly positioned at two thirds from the bottom. Excellent natural colours. TFS and have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Ulf
