Close encounter with a squirrel in the Grand-Canyon.
A scanned picture from 07/1978.
A handful of peanuts done the gesture and this cute one was posing for me...

I had to crop much of the picture to gain some quality, I reckon it is not a well preserved paper-picture.

It's a cute picture. Squirrels are hard to resist. Maybe the colours haven't lasted perfectly but they are still reasonably natural. and for a photo printed 38 years ago we couldn't expect total digital perfection.

Hello Ike,

The colours have faded but there is no doubting the charm of this squirrel photograph.
He looks to be posing just for you, his front paws together and his back paws well spaced to balance his vertical position. It's a lovely animal portrait and amazing that it is so good after so many years!

very funny wild life photograph.
The quality is not the best but the pose of the squirrel is cute and so I am not surprised that you wanted to share it.
I should have somewhere photos of American squirrels, especially the little ones, I have to look for them too :)

the squirrel seemed to trust you and posed for you in a cute and characteristic way. Although it stands in the shade it's perfectly clear and the surroundings are shown in superb clarity and depth too. I like how you managed the contrasts, which were strong and all over the scene. You had more luck than I did. They always run away from me except in Skansen Park in Stockholm. Nice use of a shallow dof with superb sharpness on the squirrel. Tfs!

This squirrel I think is an American sort, a very dangerous sort in Europe, be eradicated our little Europians through this sort.
But a very nice picture with a lovely scanned picture.

So you permeated yourself in the agentic era for a nostalgic trip to the Grand Canyon! Apart some dust seen on the tree trunk, I consider this voyage in the time machine is quite representative of what one could expect when we were..younger!

Ike, the squirrel is attracted by the crumbs of food left by the tourists. It is a timid animal always moving quickly and you were prompt to take its photo during the visit of the canyon. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
