Photographer's Note
This photo was taken when the dark cloud was push from west (foreground) to east (background) to cover Los Angeles Harbor.
The bridge in the front view is Vincent Thomas Bridge. The already cloud covered foreground area is city of San Pedro. The port next to Los Angels port further away from our view is Long Beach.
This picture was taken in the Palos Verdes at a location close to the area where I took this picture.

Oh, it looks like quite serious weather! You show us a lot of trouble-pictures, first cities on fire, now a city in the storm! But it is a beautiful picture! And the clouds look very special! Well done! :-D

Great drama in the sky, and an interesting view of the city. Your link did not work for me. :-(

wow .. great capture Wes
the clouds look really scary, it gives the dark shadow on the city. you catch it at the very nice moment, where there are some lights above the bridge.

Uh,
amazing cityscape photo with this dark grey cloud hanging over and casting a strong shadow - I like the contrast between that shadow and sunlit area further in the BG.
This is a very good composition - very powerful, Wes!

Wes this sure is a foreboding cloud. It’s funny how one side seems darker because of the cloud and the area further back has some nice lighting showing off those excellent colors. I think the decision to crop in this manner was indeed a good one. Another nice shot there Mr. Wes. Hey did you get my email containing D70 shots? At any rate keep up the good work.

Hi Wes,
It looks like the fire from a few days ago is spreading out. You could also say: Black clouds gathered over the town.
Beautiful, moody picture.

Hi Wes
The cloud brings drama to the shot. The part in front of the harbour is in shade and the rest in sun.
Well seen and captured.

Hi Wes,
Nice shot, I like here your panoramic format and the way you combined the rule of thirds with differences in brightness resulting in this interesting layering.
Have a nice day,

Hi Wes,
A very nice panoramic image, I can see three parts, in the foreground it dark part, in the middle the city with the lovely bridge, and the foggy sky with her low clouds.
Very nice done!

Hi Wes. Wow, this one is really amazing with almost an end-of-days atmosphere being rendered. Very impressive effect from the streak of sunlight illuminating the middle layer of the compo, between the darker city buildings in the foreground, and underneath the dark sky. Very rich details presented with all the cranes and industrial things around the port. Great shot.

Hello Wes
Les zones industrielles, ce n'est pas ma tasse de thé !
Mais je reconnais que la composition est bien effectuée avec ce gros nuage sombre qui donne au paysage un aspect dramatique.
Hello Wes
The industrial parks, it is not my cup of tea!
But I recognize that the composition is well carried out with this large dark cloud which gives to the landscape a dramatic aspect.
