Photographer's Note
I woke early this morning and decided to take a short hike to the beach. The sun had just come up in this view and no people were yet on the beach. A large portion of the beach behind me is a protected area for Snowy Plover nesting. The area shown is actually the mouth of the creek, which at this moment was blocked by a sandbar. There were hundreds of gulls sitting on the beach, waiting for the the tides to change. At that time the sandbars will clear and those fishes that will rush into the creek for feeding, will be easy targets for the hungry gulls.
San Simeon State Park is one of the oldest units of the California State Park System. The coastal bluffs and promontories of the scenic park offer unobstructed views of the ocean and rocky shore. The park includes the Santa Rosa Creek Natural Preserve, the San Simeon Natural Preserve and the Pa-nu Cultural Preserve were established in 1990.

Hi Ned,
Very nice seascape. Nice rocky coast. I like the beautiful waves in diagonal and these many gulls. Nice colors, perspective and DOF. Well done.

Hi Ned. Good use of the wide-angle to really capture the scene. That light blue water looks so inviting. I like how the far part of the shot goes into a fog or mist. Good one Ned!

Hello Ned,
I like this picture with all these birds being the morning croud of this beach. The fog coming out create a nice mood and the colours are superb. TFS
