Photographer's Note
24 October 2005 - Hurricane Wilma blew by this morning and left Central Florida with a lot of standing water, but the sun was out by afternoon.
My town of St. Cloud suffered some minor flooding, but here in our neighborhood, the water did not get into our homes this time. My "old" TE friends may remember that after the hurricanes that went through Florida last year, I posted a photo of some boys in swimming trunks playing in the water where this white fence had been blown down in the storm. You'll notice the girl on the left is actually dressed more appropriately for this day, since the cold front that pushed the hurricane back out to the ocean lowered our temperature by several degrees.
I like the photo because of the girl's pose, the reminder of all the water (it had already gone down a bit, as you can see by the mark on the fence), and becuase this picture will remind me of daily life in Florida, during hurricane season (June - November 1, every year).
Thought I should post something, since I've been only "lurking" lately. ;o) Hope you enjoy a little.

What a tough season it's been Michelle! Hope you've seen the last of it for a while. (Anyway I guess you'll be safe from hurricanes in Canada:)) I like the way this shot documents the aftermath of the hurricane. Your pov is nice, providing depth. Best of all is the graceful pose of the girl in white, compared to the funny pose of the other girl.

Wow. A very moving image, it's shot in a very National Geographic style. The composition is excellent. Not only can we see life after Wilma in the residual water and water mark on fence, but also the constrast of the two girls clothes. The girl on the left is in a wonderful position, perhaps reflecting on lucky St.Cloud was this time... Whilst the girl on the left seems to be playing baseball : )
Brilliant.

Nice to see a shot from you again, Michelle, and of course after such an intense season you must have something to show. I've been thinking about you and Florida - not knowing if you still were there - but guess you didn't get the worst hits this season. But you evidently got your share. And the aftermath looks almost peaceful this time; a bit of blue sky and sunlit haze; the two girls playing carefree with the water (I guess she's about to splash some on the girl ready to run away). Only the marks on the fence show us the underlaying seriousness of the situation. Very well done!

I'm glad to hear you didn't have too much damage- but that is quite a bit of water. The girl in the water does look very dreamy- while the other girl seems to be ready to take a leap in the puddle. Nice capture!

Hi Michelle! I enjoy in seeing a new photo... but I would prefer not about a hurricane! In this pic I see the the storm is felt by the two girls as something not quite unusual, one is joking and the other is posing for the photographer, so there were nothing too dramatic this time. Anyway, it must be hard to live with the fear of such a storm!
Ciao, thank you, see you soon I hope! Livia

Hi Michele,
A good POV of the children playing in the water. The photo has a good composition and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.
