Photographer's Note

There is an annual Halloween Costume Carnaval in city of West Hollywood. It is the largest Halloween Street Party in the United States. The Carnaval occupies one mile of historic Route 66 in Hollywood, the current Santa Monica Boulevard. This year’s carnival is the 18th carnival for this annual event.

If you happen to be in Los Angeles area during Halloween, I highly recommend you to attend this event. This is a free party for everyone. You should aware of following: (1) It is Halloween, be prepared to be scared. (2) West Hollywood has a large gay and lesbian population. You should respect their life style. You may see many cross-dressing costumes. (3) It is always crowded. You have to squeeze your way out almost all the time.

There are thousands of attendees each year to the party. I spent two hours wondering on the street. Majority of the attendees wore costumes. Many of them are outrageous, hilarious, and unique.

I will share a few of pictures I took in the Carnaval here. Considering the enjoyment for everyone, I will choose the pictures with relative conservative costumes to post.

Note: ISO 800.
