Quite an interesting shot as far as the placement goes, it gives the photo a sense of distance I think from where they have jumped/ran from.
The haircut on the boy and tight shirt as well as the black and white makes the photo look as if it was taken 30 years ago as well.
Its our first real wintery day here in Perth, so I'm glad you are getting some nice weather.

Its excellent. I like pretty much everything here, but the wide open sky is my favorite part of this shot. I like the soft focus on the faces of the running boys as well.

Rosie,
This has got to be one of your best yet in my opinion.
Your cropping (or framing, if you did it through the viewfinder) is imaginative and works perfectly. It immediately captures the eye and just doesn't let go.
The sense of energy and youthfulness that comes through in your subjects is palpable, and that BIG sky is just the way I remember it seeming when I was that age.
You've got some nice tones here, and some good shadows, too. Just enough to give a sense of the springtime sun, but without them obscuring anything important.
I really cannot say enough about this one.

Well done. very simple and minimal, but totally full of life!! great monochromatic choice here and the composition really makes me think that these kids just ran off the page. I love the sky and the title too.
very nice. I really like it

Very nice framing for this one, Rosie. The boys in the lower corner, just about to run outside your photo, convey a good dynamism and also a bit of the joy about the arrival of spring. It's also cool that other than the sky there is no other distracting detail in this very elementary but genuine shot. Nice work.

An amazing take, Rosalie. This one is full of dynamism and movement, yet only ~20th of the frame, an area that is usually considered unimportant, holds the main subject. The cloud in the sky gives us a space to breath and relish the freedom of Spring while these boys runn after thier trophy. Very well composed.

Nicely made composition, very dynamic, completely out of the "rules", or so called, but it works great. The dynamism is also enhanced by the side light, I like very much how his face is half shaded half lit, makes a very "graphical" face.
Lovely fluffy textured clouds too.
Cannot fault this one, just to say something : perhaps I would have cropped 10 pixels more on the bottom, to leave his black shorts out...

Hello Rosalie,
Great action shot! And very cool framing which makes this very unique and fun. the shutter speed is perfect and I like the shadows casted on their faces. The background of vast expanse of clouds is another good element of your composition.
TFS.
Have a nice day,

That photo is simply wonderful.
For some reason it gives me a feeling of a scene straight out of the 70'ies.
The framing is pretty well done, and far away from any cliche. I love the way that the sky dominates the scene.
The feeling of movement and the shadows on the face of the boy in the front is great. The B&W works wondefuly well on this.
Just on a side note: Why not crop the botton part of the pic? The only part that is black and isn't part of a shadow is the boy's short. And I mighty be wrong, but I think that this ends up taking away a bit of the impact of the shadows. I would only cut to the point where his leg and short would not show on the frame.
Congratulations on the photo, REALLY good.

this is magic!
just amazing rosie, that you've caught this shot so well. i love the sky (my favourite background) and i like your extreme framing.
i'd like to see this in colour, so i can enjoy the beautiful blues. but i also like the b&w ... well composed.

Wonderful shot, Rosalie, the wide open sky and the two young boys placed in the corner accentuate that sense of freshness of spring you are talking of. Simply brilliant. A wonderful work, nicely framed.

When I think of Rosiegirl, I think of this and constellations...
an unorthodox composition which looks fabulous in these tones...it just would not be the same without those prominent clouds.
You have special eyes...

Hi Rosie,
Your treatment of this subject is excellent. I can't believe that you made it work by filling only so little of the frame.
As Brendan noted, the shot also has the feel of and old photograph; the B/W choice is aptly used here.
Great shot, goes into my favorites,

when i saw your photos i found that you have your signature in your photos and it is your different composition and sorting of your characters.
your shot is so much nostalgic it is like a pink floyd music that it is for me like a regret of lost young ages those you could do extreme things and remember the golden ages of soccer.
it is like an story that an old man say to his grand children.i can feel the cool wind that it wave the darker young man hair.
your photo came out from a distance memory
