Photographer's Note

Here is another sign-wielding protestor from the anti-war event in San Francisco last weekend. On its face, this isn't a spectacular shot, but I find it interesting nonetheless, because this man's body language seems so opposite from that of the other protestors (see my other shots from this travelogue).

His expression is lackluster, with a drooped chin and downward gaze. His gate is lethargic, almost like he was in a funeral march, not a rally.

But in the context of this event, it is understanable for some to look (and feel) this way. Many American protestors feel disaffected and adrift. I think this shot represents an important contingent within the anti-war movement. Whether or not this stands up as a quality image on TE...I don't know. Opinions?
