As the moon rose and made its presence known, I was impressed with the spiking crown of clouds that formed around it, seeming to punctuate the end of the day and the year.

Kathy, That is a very nice "end of year" scene, and the full moon we are having these days really tops off the year and the start of a new one. Thanks for the serene waterside view, and cheers to you and your from Canada

Hi Kathy, what a wonderful scenery crowned by aunique cloud formation and with a single jewel on it - the moon. The landscape is rather soft and could be a little bit sharper - at least for my taste, that isn't perfect at all ;-)

An interesting picture.

Firstly the sky looks great with high clouds. The moon is difficult to capture during the day - but can be seen quite clearly here. Lastly the freezing water creates some unusual patterns.

It is good overall because there are things to see from top to bottom in this picture, at all different levels and heights. Well done.

i love the way you captured the colours. well, the distant tress should have been a bit more distinct to complete this picture. but, great work done.

I like this image very much. The sky and the clouds are really fantastic. Overall colors are so delicate it is a pleasure...
On top of that, you managed to build a great composition using this frozen foreground. A veru nice shot, congratulations!

Hi Kathy and happy new year to you. This one is a marvellous shot to start it off. Beautiful rendition of the water and ice and lovely subdued light, and then those amazing radial clouds and the moon. A really good landscape. Hope 2007 is a good one for you. All the best.

Hi Kathy, You have done very well capturing the moon and the clouds. Perhaps a graduated neutral density filter would hold the contrast better around the moon. I also find the twigs at the very bottom a bit destracting. Best wishes, Hakan.

It's impressive the way you've framed the contrast between the bright crown of clouds with the moon like an opal in the center and the crown-like shape in the ice filled with the dark blue water.
