Covered Bridge 1, a photo from Texas, South

Photographer's Note

On I-45 between Conroe and the Woodlands is a small community called River Plantation (just north of FM 1488). It seems to be a community built around a full size golf course (or is it the other way around?). This bridge marks the entrance to that community. For those interested, the sign in the middle of the bridge reads "Clearance 13 ft".

The 2 side "holes" on either side are pedestrian walkways. While the road is concrete, the walkways are wooden.

Post processing included some cropping, resizing, and some unsharp mask. This is my first attempt at a building type picture and would appreciate any constructive criticism.

I like the bright red - it's definitely an eye-catcher. This is a neat angle too, looking up and off to the side. Problems I have with it are that the tip top is cut off, and the bridge seems a little tilted to the left. There is also a reddish hue, but that may have been the time of day, if it was sunset. It may have also worked if you had stepped a little more to the right. But those are my 2 cents, and someone else might have other ideas. I'm still learning architecture myself, and these are some things I've read. Some people prefer an object of interest, which I take to mean a flower of a different color, a couple walking, something to make the scene less static. Hope this helps. Personally, I like this photo, if only there was a tip to the roof. :o)

I like this image! It is something unique to the US than any other place, so i think it is a very good TE image. I liek that you get a sense of the space and the environment. it also has a very lonely feeling. Well captured!
