Photographer's Note

The midwest is truly amazing landscape. A landscape with lonely farm compounds set in the middle of endless fields of wheat and corn.. Roads that extend on forever, disappearing into mirages. And sleepy, small, towns miles apart.

It's lonely but beautiful. The green of the corn so vivid and so full of life. The sky so endless and powerful. It's an amazing landscape. And full of surprises, too. If you have very good eyes you might even be able to see one here. But I'll be posting that surprise soon so don't worry if you can't see it.

I travelled 1000 kilometers to get my first post for the summer scavenger hunt. I hope you like my endless road. The vanishing point is somewhere over that mirage out there in the distance. A true midwestern road that seems to never end. If I had had the time I would have tried to find the end of this road and that yellow sign with two arrows But that could have taken me countless hours on this road.

This photo was taken on S14 5 miles south of US 18 and Ventura, Iowa.

On this photo I ran auto-levels and then adjusted the backlighting before the usual re-sizing and sharpening.
