Empty Foothills

Devil's Backbone Trail
Loveland, Colorado

An evening walk in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. Out of frame on our left the ridge of Devil's Backbone and the peaks of the Rocky Mountains .. on our right the full moon ...

In our view the scattered trees, dried plants, and the red soil of the foothills ...

An empty place .. I wish I could call it a vast place .. but this is a small treasure ...

The City of Denver up through the smaller cities of Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, and Fort Collins .. the "Front Range" ... are nestled up against the mountains .. and all growing exponentially

... People love living at the base of the mountains .. with easy access to the mountains .. but without having to deal with the weather and other difficult access issues ..

The cities are gradually growing together into one giant megalopolis ... places like this are too quickly becoming few and far between.
