This is a shot of a joshua tree taken in the joshua tree national tree.
I love specifically the contrast between the menacing sky in dark grey and the meadow, the tree and rocks.

I agree with you about the contrast of the dark gray sky aginst the tan of the rocks and grassland. The shot has great depth moving from the foreground grass to the tree to the rocks to the sky.

Nice landscape, good colors. The exposure could have been slightly better since the rock in the center of the image is burned out. Excellent atmosphere created by the threatening sky.

Magnifique paysage désertique. La luminosité est capturée magnifiquement dans un beau contraste contre ce ciel menaçant. La présence de deux arbres sur deux plans différents donnent de la profondeur à l'image...

J'ai toujours adoré les photos de paysages ensoleillés sous un ciel d'oage ou de tempête menaçant. Celle-ci est particulièrement superbe.

Very nice contrast between the cloudly sky and the rocks. The colours are nice and I like the soft structure of the rocks. Beau travail!

Composition très réussie ! La répartition entre le sol, les rochers + arbres et le ciel donne un tableau très esthétique et les couleurs ressortent bien !

Immagine stupenda! Ottimo il contrasto tra il cielo nero in attesa del temporale e le parti illuminate dal sole radente. Forme e composizione interessantissime! Complimenti!

Hi Laurent, I agree that the contrast between the sky and the meadow works very well. A polarizer would add to this and make the clouds even more menacing. It may have been difficult, but another shot with the tree against the sky may have worked as well. Nice shot and thanks. Don

Gosto muito dessas cores, com as arvores e a intrigante rocha como elemento forte em primeiro plano. Gosto da perspectiva ampla e da textura fina e elegante da imagem. Otimo trabalho Laurent.

Le contraste entre le ciel sombre et la terre lumineuse est très réussi en effet. Ta photo est très nette, la composition met l'arbre en valeur tout en laissant de la place au paysage et à ses couleurs.

Hi Laurent,
Did you make the sky B/W? As others have noted, the "tan" of the rocks works great against the sky.
I like the composition, with the two rocks and two joshua trees, I like the detail and sharpness... It's a nice shot.
Goes into my favorites for the color of the rocks against the dark gray sky, the light, and composition.
A bit of the rock in the middleground is overexposed, as Roland noticed, but that's just a minor quibble. Great job, and thanks for sharing!
