Photographer's Note
This afternoon we went to one of our favourite coffee cafes (Made In Stanmore). When we got in our car at the council car park I spotted this young bird zippping around the bottle brush trees sucking up all the sweetness of the red flowers.
These are the colours of Christmas. Hope you had a good one :)

Hallo Dear BB, my first thought was "What's he and the Boys doing in a bush?" But then I read your note and it partly explains it ;) How did Christmas go? I ate too much. And then drank too much...Back to the photo, the colours and sharpness are excellent. I like the position of the parrot to the left of the frame and how the surrounding plants naturally frame him. Quick response to a great photo opportunity. And such an Aussie image. Congratulations and hugs, Lisa

Graham,
I think that this is a plastic bird you have stuck up in a tree......................................
Seriously, if I had not been to Australia I might really have thought so, but I know what fabulous (and dangerous) wildlife you have.
A well caught and colourful picture, a delight to any bird watchers.
All the best

Hi Graham, Very well composed and presented. The subject is in the strong part of the image and the surrounding greenery and flowers make this one of the best Aussie bird photos i have seen in a long while.Superb clarity and colours. TFS. Murray.

A great Christmas tree Graham - the colours plus flowers plus bird would make a great one (and better than the Rosellas eating the fruit on our apricot tree.
cheers and have a great new year.

Hi Graham,
Nice spotting of this pretty Rosella. Good that the leaves are not blocking her eye. The colours stands out well from the lush green surrounding.
When it comes to shooting bird, SteveH has the most experience among us. He normally creeps very slowly towards the bird, taking a couple of shot each time he gets closer until the bird flies off. This I learned from him. Your 55-200mm lens should be sufficient, but better still with a 70-200mm f/2.8.
Nice work
Regards and best wishes for the New Year,
Alfred

Hi Graham,
Perfect Christmas colours. Good use of DOF, he's perfectly sharp and accentuated superbly by the foreground and background bokeh.
Composition is also excellent, the slightly off-set framing makes for an interesting view.
It's an excellent shot mate, a bloody beauty in fact, my compliments.
All the best to you and Colleen for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Best Wishes
Pete

Hello Graham,
The colors are incredible! The bird practices to perfection the art of the camouflage. It is really superb and strange image. The realization is perfect. Cheer.
