Photographer's Note
Black Dog Ridge was the traditional route for the Gundungurra Aborigines between the Lower Cox River / Burragorang to the Megalong Valley / Upper Cox River.
Black Dog Ridge is within the Wild Dog Mountains (a portion of the Blue Mountains [Great Dividing Range]). It is a 1200 feet pass from the bottom (Cox River) to the top of Black Dog Ridge.
The name, Black Dog Ridge, came about when Mr. Robert O'Reilly was first shown the route by the Gundungurra people. On ascending the 1200 feet pass he is said to have exclaimed, "That was a black dog of hill, that was".
My photograph here was taken near the top of Black Dog Ridges on a large rock outcrop where past Gundungurra people told stories of the Dreamtime to their children.
This photograph looks south (and in a direct line to the town of Berrima). A direct line back north some 30 klms (as the crow flies) is the township of Blackheath. You can see the Cox River runs from bottom left up diagonally to the right in the valley below.

Interesting one Graham
There is a spot near where I live that gives the reverse view looking north (at the end of the old Box Vale railway line)
The well in focus figure works quite well against the slightly out of focus background.
cheers

G'Day Graham,
Splendid b&w view of the old black dog.
The black and white works well here as your subjects thoughts seem a bit mystical as he peers into the distance.

Hello Mr BurraBurra, another great demonstration of your native land. I like the B&W and dont need too many guesses as to who was your gorgeous model ;) I like the sharpness of your subject and the shallow depth of field which emphasises that vast land. Nice work, good to see 6you back with a vengeance - am looking forward to the pics of your Toy, they were fabby. Cheers, Lisa

Hi Graham,
Nah, don't care what the Mouth says, I like the colour version, not that this image isn't good, just that the colour version is better.
Wow, you must have had a great time visiting these places.
Excellent POV and good composition using the young man in the foreground.
See you soon.
Cheers
Pete

Hi Graham,
A great perspective and the B&W really highlights the contours. I am probably going to be in the Blue Mountains in the next week, so this image excites me!
Regards
Justin
