Photographer's Note
Fans of the Bee Gees should not miss a visit to Bee Gees Way, a commemorative 70m walkway that honours Redcliffe's most famous young residents who went on to be one of the top selling bands of all time.
The walkway, which was opened in 2 stages in 2013 and 2015 by Barry Gibb, was largely curated by him and is like a multi-media mini outdoor museum.
A gallery of more than 60 photos, 13 album covers and snippets of info about their lives, set out in chronological order, covers one wall along with an enshrined copy of the first album contract they signed with managers Bill Goode and Bill Gates in 1959.
Along the other wall is a 70m mural of the artwork of Barry, Robin, Maurice and younger brother Andy Gibb while a 5.3m video screen shows interviews with Barry Gibb, never before seen home videos and footage of the Bee Gees performances.
As well as life size (bare foot) statues of the Gibb brothers as children in Redcliffe there's also statues of the adult Bee Gees from the 'One Night Only' album era.
Seating features the lyrics of Bee Gees songs and by night the whole laneway comes to life with light shows set to music* every half hour from 7pm till 9.30pm.
The rest of the story you already know ^_^
Cheers

Hello Ralf
It is spelled as 'Redcliffe' so you might want to edit the location. Good colour, sharpness and saturation. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Brisbane. It still has an undeserved reputation as a backward cowtown, but that was late 60's / early 1970's. Back when the Bee Gees lived here. They went on to bigger and better just like Brisbane. Tfs!

Those statue Gee's seem so alive and I can imagine the music played...
A fine take on outdoor's bright daylight, Ralf.
Have a nice new week,

Hello Ralf,
You have given some extensive notes about the BG's, revealing information that was completely new to me. (I think we have all loved songs by this group.) I knew they were a group from Manchester and were widely promoted here but I had no idea that they had actually moved to Australia. No wonder there is such a desire to dedicate memories to their achievements, in Redcliffe.
It's a nice, complete shot, with details of the statues of the trio and an informative b/g.
I hope you don't mind but I have made a close-up of the BG's from your photograph.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ralf,
A real blast from the past! You have handled the strong light very well, retaining the colours and detail in the statuary. Excellent sharpness. All we need is the music.

Hi Ralf,
Cartoon style faces look so good in large scale, and especially the one on the yellow wall catches attention. That trio of statues is well done and sidelight makes nioce shadows of them.

Hello Ralf,
The Bee Gees have really had a lifelong musical career.
No wonder that Australia is so proud on them.
Good to let us know the existence of this Bee Gees walkway.
Best regards, Paul
