Photographer's Note
These wombats were seen on the way to Windy Saddle track. The walk takes you through an area of woodland, recently burnt in the bushfires followed by temperate rain forest with tree ferns, before ascending the open grassy saddle.
These guys (I guess a mother and young) were walking along the track where the burnt area met the rainforest until they noticed us and headed off up the hill into the bush, where I got this shot.

Hello Stephen
A brilliant shot of 2 wombats - so sharp. Pity about the twig across the face of the baby. You were fortunate to get such a shot. I have lived in Australia for 20 years and have done quite a bit of bushwalking but I have never seen a wombat in the wild. Tfs, Marlene

Hello Steve,
Cute little creatures well posed for you, another good shot to add to your wildlife library, excellent sharpness and diffused light. Just not sure about that twig across the nose of the young.
Regards
Alfred
