Perth Skyline over the Swan, a photo from Western Australia, West

Photographer's Note

This is a shot of the Perth skyline taken recently. It was such a calm and mild night - the colours were captured by the river so well I was really happy with the result.

Setting the camera on a tripod, at f10 on aperature priorty the camera set the shutter speed to twenty seconds. I really enjoyed watching to still city during those 20 seconds.

I took this for a publication I was working on and I thought it would be great to showcase my home town. Perth - the most isolated city in the world.

Very sharp & clean night shot with no noticeable noise. I like the colors & long reflection. Nice city view across the Swan river. I was here a some years ago & on near this spot at night but didn't have a camera with me. Probably be in Perth at the end of the year. Regards. Latiff.

Gidday Geoff,

Nice to get the Swan glassed over so nicely. I too want to get down to South Perth and take a shot like yours.

I find the sky a little distracting, I think if you blacked out the clouds the image would be more appealing (to me anyway). I think the little bit of murkiness in the sky distracts a little from the fantastic city lights.
