Loch Ard Gorge, a photo from Victoria, East

Photographer's Note

A panorama, looking east from Loch Arch Gorge in the ruggedly beautiful Port Campbell National Park. The feature in the foreground used to be known as island archway, but the arch collapsed in June 2009. Its a great place to visit with many walks and rugged seacoast to photograph. Loch Ard Gorge is named after a sailing ship that was wrecked here in 1878 with the loss of 49 passengers and crew, 2 people somehow survived.

Hello Chris,

Several shots stitched together in auto stitching this gives a very good image.
Lovely long version without mistakes.
The white waves in the curve are pleasant.
Very soft and fine picture, light and dark give a good combination.
Composition and presentation are nice for look at.

I see that this is your 200th photo on Trekearth, and what a dramatic panorama it is! The stitching has been achieved seamlessly, as only a fine tailor could do. I had no idea of the existence of this rugged shore.

I loved my drive on the GREAT OCEAN ROAD and the views at the fantastic rockformations.

Plenty of choice of excellent photos in your gallery... I choose this one being really spectacular and unique.
The stitching allowed you to span the whole wonderful scenery in all its majesty, but I think it's the chosen POV which contributed most to create a really three-dimensional image. Very dramatic and incisive. I love the rough sea.

very beautiful and unusual the position of this large rock at right. I liked the way you framed the landscape and its elements. good soft light and sharpness. this landscape made me remember algarve, in portugal and pisco in peru
