Photographer's Note

This photo was taken at Melbourne’s Federation Square, during several days of Australia Day celebrations.
Fed square, as it is commonly known, although being voted amongst the world’s ugliest sites with 8.99 million visitors in 2011 is still Melbourne’s most popular tourist attraction. This of course may pale into insignificance when compared to Times Square at 39.2 million annually. This familiar landmark is a popular meeting point for many visitors to the city, it is where countless people can be found on most days enjoying a chat, stroll, quiet relaxing afternoon with a book, listening to live music on the stage, or watching a sports game on the big screen.
On this day there were several performing acts, as well as the tennis live from the Australian open.
This is Nkechi Anele, half Nigerian and half Irish, explains her dark skin with freckles, the lead singer of Saskwatch a nine piece band from Melbourne , all I can say is that if you love Aretha Franklin, you will love her.
If you have the time click here to listen to Saskwatch live.
