Photographer's Note

On Australia's south coast, on the WA border lies Eucla. The original settlement was just a telegraph repeater station in the sandhills near the beach. These days there is a small town up on the scarp centred around a couple of roadhouses on the highway, a meteorological station and a tiny fishing fleet.

This photo was taken in the late afternoon while we were heading down to the ruins of the telegraph station to camp for the night.

I like the way the shadows cross the road in the foreground and the way you can see the track curve off to the right further on. You can see the sandhills in the background. I also really like the quality of the light in this one.
