Photographer's Note

This ol' church can be found in east Balmain. Autumn sunsets make old buildings like this look extra special and I waited for just the right time to capture this.

The foundation for the first St Augustine's church was laid in 1848 and this little church still stands, just to the right of the one shown here. This much bigger church was built around 1907.

This is a HDR composition done from the same photo taken RAW and "exposed" 3 times. Using Camera RAW in Photoshop, I created 3 tiff files, the original and two others: +1/-1 exposure. I then used Photomatix to create the HDR. Back in Photoshop, some shadow/highlite and color adjustment + sharpening.

In the workshop, I overlayed a fake TTV texture to give the photo a more rustic feel.
