...After sightseing in the big city of Auckland, it is time for a relaxing excursion to Devonport, which is a
peaceful suburb on the tip of Auckland's North Shore peninsula with many well preserved Victorian and Edwardian buildings, small shops and nice little cafés :o)
The ferry ride from the Auckland Ferry building pier 2 takes only 12 minutes .

What a difference between the place you left and the place you are going to ... I like the view forward much more better! ;-)
Devonport seems to be a great place to live in. The workshop pictures and your note here give a good impression of this.
(I do not like cities with such a "skyline" at all ;-)

Hej Dorte.
Devonport seems total opposite to Auckland, no skyscrapers or other high buildings.
Very nice coloured water and sky. I also like the big dark cloud hanging like a roof in the sky. Bright and clear and a good sharpness. Interesting note and WS's as always.

Seems to be another fine place in NZ Dorte. I like the setting of land and clouded sky - but probaly a little cut in the lower part of the sea had worked as well.

Hello Dorte,

I feel vicariously as if I am seeing Auckland for the first time through a visitor's eyes. Your series is informative and educational. Jut seeing the Auckland name on the title, it reminded me of a young man in the early 80s who made a great deal of news in the United States. Planning to fly from Los Angeles to Oakland, he boarded a plane for Auckland instead. It took a little longer, but eventually he did reach Oakland. And as strange as this story sounds, it is true.
