Photographer's Note
...here I am again with more photos from my "Once in a lifetime" trip to N.Z.
Here we are flying over Mt. Tasman on our way to Mount Cook .
What you see is MacKenzie Basin . At the horizon you can catch a glimpse of turquise Lake Pukaki , in the middle of the photo - a bit to the right hand side - is the glacial lake with floating icebergs !
The glacial lake is up to 150 meters deep !
At the bottom to the laft you can see the end of Tasman Glacier.
Tasman Glacier is 29 kilometers long , up to 4 kilometers wide , and up to 800 meters deep !!
Approximately 14.000 years ago , the ice that covered this area from the last Ice Age began its retreat and created a dramatic landscape, subtle ever-changing hues and air of exceptional purity !
There is one more posting from this special place in the workshop !And my next posting will be photos of breathtaking Mount Cook :o)

Hallo Dorte!
Great, simply great! What a lot of scenic details - and of course, what a beauty and magnificence! The quality of the picture is amazing! The range in the foreground somehow creates a 3D-effect. Congrats to this photo!
Greetings from autumnal grey Westphalia!

Hej Dorte,
A really great view from a plane (nice inclusion of the wing in the upper left hand corner too). It's wonderful to see the impressive mountain peaks, some of them still covered by some snow. Also the clouds in the background are a nice addition. The light is pleasant. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Dorte,
Photographs from the air can span the whole gamut from the very good to the very bad — I guess, it's that way with everything else also. But this is a very fine image of Mount Cook and the rough terrain surrounding it, complemented by a sensational note. Unhappily, I have not visited New Zealand, but your photographs make it alluring.
Warm regards and have a good weekend,
Bulent

Hi Dorte.
You did a great job of this with your little camera. It's very clear and sharp. And what a view of this glacial lake. I am very pleased to see Lake Pukaki, because we went to see this beautiful lake when staying in Hokitika. I was trying to think of the name of this lake just the other day. Your photos are making me want to go back to NZ. Although I must admit I would prefer to live here rather than there. But it's a fantastic place to visit.
Regards,
Andrew
