Beneath the Yasur Volcano, a photo from Tafea, South

Photographer's Note

Pls take note this is a dyptich (two photos).

Above : the Yasur volcano on Tanna island, spitting projections of orange color lava, beneath the deep blue sky of dusk.
It's a unique almost scary experience to sit on the rim, watch the fireworks, smell the sulfur odors, feel the vibes and hear the groans of the earth.
The darker the day gets, the closer you feel from the lava to a point you think you're almost at reach from the lava projections.

Below : the John Frum tribe, located right beneath the Yasur, is also the guardian of the volcano : they can interpret every move every sound of it.
Every friday night of their life, the villagers sing and dance for the return of John Frum, sailing back to the island on his glaring white cargo boat.

I don't know of any country where nature and mysticism are so much bound than in Vanuatu.

First-rate "story-telling." Looks like a movie poster for one of those "surviving the meteor-strike" films. Dark, moody --- very cool.

Belle composition qui semble raconter une histoire, la population semble s'être rassemblée en attandant que le volcan se calme..
Passioné de volcan, j'espère avoir la chance de decouvrir un jour le Vanuatu

Salut Luko

premièrement, ta galerie pbase de Vanuatu est assez malade! Un pur délice!

J'aime comment les deux photos se marient bien, principalement grâce au noir entre les deux. Celle du haut ne tiendra pas très bien seule (serait encore au-dessus de la moyenne ici quand même!), mais celle du bas est vraiment excellent. J'adore les couleurs chaudes et les ombres au sol en bas à droite. Quelle ambiance!

Celle du bas, évidemment elle est prise à main levé et évidemment les gens bougeaient alors il y a un flou de mouvement naturel. Je n'ai rien contre ça. Mais est-ce que je me trompe où il y a un flou rajouté en pp pour adoucir?

Aura t-on la chance de te voir un peu plus souvent ici? C'est toujours une belle surprise!

Hi Luko. Truly an impressive photo. Life in the sight of the volcanic mountain must be a special experience. People feel how small they are compared to nature. You realize this Photo in color (red blaze, blue sky) is a skilful way. Really impressive. Regards, Wolfgang.

S'Luko,

J'étais moins fébrile lors de la présentation de ton dernier diptyque, ne voyant pas en quoi les deux personnages avaient intérêt à se croiser.

Mais ici, aucune hésitation, la juxtaposition me plaît déjà visuellement, et avec le texte en complément, c'est d'autant plus remarquable.

La cérémonie à laquelle tu as assistée ne fait sûrement pas partie de l'itinéraire du Routard... Quel moment unique!

Des conditions de lumière pas évidente, mais un instant de vérité qu'on peut presque ressentir, comme si on s'y trouvait.

Les deux photos auraient très bien pu vivre l'une sans l'autre, le volcan étant très spectaculaire en elle-même, mais j'avoue que les deux mises ensemble, ça devient un conte, une légende.

Si tu exposes tes photos ailleurs, laisse-le moi savoir.
