Photographer's Note
In February 2016, we sailed on the elegant ship, Seabourn Odyssey, from Brisbane, Australia to New Caledonia, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji.
Seven or eight days into the 11-day cruise the ship we anchored off the Island of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu in the South Pacific and took a tender onto a local beach. Champagne Beach was named "The Best Swimming Beach in the World" in a 2009 issue of "Islands Magazine." It is also in one of the most remote regions of the world, in an archipelago tucked between the Solomon Islands and Fiji. Against a backdrop of dugout boats with outriggers, are seen natives selling wood carvings, coconuts, and Coca-Cola bottles.
The Melanesians, in distinction to the Polynesians and Micronesians among the three indigenous Oceania people, possess much darker skin coloring and frequently blond hair (see one of my earlier photos from the Solomon Islands).

Hello Bulent,
You always sail on the very elegant ship :). Polynesian or Melanesian islands are beyond my reach :(. Nice scene on the market. hopefully the items are made in Vanuatu and not in China (but I wouldn't be sure). Nice smiling lady.
Kind regrad s Malgo

Bonjour, cher ami Bulent,
Ici, nul n'est besoin de vitrines élégantes, de décor ostentatoire pour attirer le chaland, la marchandise est là, exposée tout simplement;
J'aime beaucoup la mine ravie de la vendeuse (un sourire, c'est toujours engageant).
Amitiés.

Hello Bülent,
There's not much seen of the beach, but this nicely smiling woman and her colorful items for sale are much more interesting than another stretch of golden sand. I wonder how the beach got its name. It doesn't sound firmly rooted in local traditions.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Bulent,
Surprisingly I have never been to Vanuatu or New Caledonia which are closer to Brisbane than Perth. A superb dailt life scene with excellent sharpness and saturation. The red hibiscus flowers add a splash of color. I hope this area wasnt too badly hit by Cyclone Pam in March 2015. (Category 5 SSHS :-() Tfs!

Hello Bülent,
I've been looking for bottles of champagne between the multicoloured tissues but honestly, I cannot find any :)
A friendly smile surely helps a lot to attract buying visitors.
A colourful and well composed view.
Regarding the Muisca Civilization in Colombia:
The Muisca’s main deity was the sun god Sue. They had a good knowledge of astronomy which they used to determine the times for planting and harvesting their crops.
The observatory on the site has the form of 115 stone columns (not on my pictures) that are arranged in rows. From the length and direction of their shadows, the Muiscas were able to dertemine the time of the year and thus find out when to start planting their crops.
I found this information in my guidebook The Rough Guide to Colombia.
More information on this civilization can be found on:

Hello Bulent,
It's very interesting to see a scene from Vanuatu, and to look at the items this woman has for sale. Her smile is warm and friendly, and I like the thatched roof above her. Nice colors, too.
